I met Juan's wife in an airport after having left a stressful situation at home with 2 dogs who decided they wanted to have frequent, serious fights (after living harmoniously together for 3 years!). His wife was flying with two amazing dogs so I approached her about their training, etc. and she said her husband trained them - very random encounter! Turned out we live in the same vicinity so I called Juan the day after I got home and he met with me for 3+ hours!! He explained his program and I was ready to get started. The transformation has been incredible and so rewarding!! Turned out my Auggie was the main problem in the canine relationship (jealousy, thinking she should be dominant, etc.) so we trained with her and I applied the same training techniques with my border collie. By the end of our 8 week program we could go into a busy store with lots of distractions and she stayed focused and dialed in with me. The dogs are back to living "together" and life is good!! I'm still very watchful in case play time starts to get rough but a quick verbal correction is all that is needed. Juan gave me the tools I need to get the dogs under control and put me back in the position of authority. Juan is THE BEST, an excellent trainer and just a great person overall!! He was very encouraging and patient and I couldn't be more grateful for his guidance and expertise. I'm very thankful for that random encounter with his wife in a random airport!!!! Juan did an incredible job training Rooster our Llewellin Setter. Rooster was a rescue dog that had been abused and had a lot of behavior issues like barking at any sound, running all around, perinoid about being in a kennel and being left alone. We are the fourth owner. Jaun was able to tain Rooster to mind, sit, down, heal, come and other 15 commands. Jaun was able to turn Rooster around so that we could keep him. Juan also was patient enough with me to teach me the commands to maintain Rooster's training. -Randy P.
I am still in shock with the transformation my dog Milo has had while training with Juan. He is a 50 pound golden doodle. In the beginning Milo barked and tried to bite every dog that passed us. He also was extremely bad with jumping and barking at people. Now we go on walks and to pet stores with ease. All of these issues were fixed with Juan’s help. Not only were his techniques great, but I really appreciate that he helped me understand the why behind my dogs issues. I would 10/10 recommend him to anyone that is looking for a trainer. We have three dogs that we rescued from death rows in different shelters in southern CA. We were told by each shelter that the dog we were getting was dog friendly. When the three dogs arrived we discovered that they do not like each other and so we had to put two in large crates in the house while one ran free and rotate them. This was not what we had in mind for us or our dogs. I searched around for a trainer that would come to our home and work with all three dogs. Enter Juan. Along with teaching our dogs some obedience he taught us (the adults in the home) how to read our dogs and know what their body language was telling us. None of the dogs are aggressive. They are sensitive and not sure of each other. We were able to overcome a lot of that and now can have the three dogs in the same room and can walk two of the mix at the same time. We were worried we wouldn’t be able to keep all three dogs until Juan came along. He was incredibly patient with the humans in this home as the dogs picked up much quicker than we did. I am so grateful to Juan and highly recommend his training. He is thorough, caring and will always be just a text or a phone call away if you have questions.
